About

Hey everyone, my name’s Jesse. I’m an average guy living in a small town in the U.S.

I recently quit my day job to become a full-time digital publisher, aka blogger.

I haven’t always been in the marketing world though, for most of my life I had no idea what I wanted to do. Because of this I ended up working a dead-end job well into my late 20s and early 30s.

However I reached a point where enough was enough and I realized I had hit a wall. I needed a career that would really provide for my family.

I decided that since I liked computers and the internet I should go back to school to be a web designer. So I did. I got a 2 year degree for “web technology”. I learned about HTML, CSS, Photoshop, SEO, and writing for the web. Overall though, a lot of the curriculum was outdated. I took what I could from the classes. In the technology industry things change so quickly that many schools can’t update their courses quick enough to stay up to date.

I got the degree and started doing freelance websites for a couple of years. In my spare time I was also learning about WordPress and building websites for myself.

After picking up a few clients here and there and applying for several jobs, I finally landed one. It didn’t pay a lot, but it was still more than I was making.

So I put in my notice at my old job and didn’t look back. It’s been a rocky road, but 5 years later I’m still at the job. I even secured a couple of decent raises along the way.

Some life changes happened a couple of years ago and I decided that I needed more.

More money, more freedom, and a more fulfilling career.

I came across affiliate marketing and how it worked one day when going down a Youtube rabbit hole. I was instantly intrigued.

I already worked in marketing and understood a lot of what was involved and I was very adept at WordPress.

It was a perfect fit! So I almost immediately got started.

At the time of writing this it’s now been about 2.5 years since then. I’ve now quit my job and am a full-time blogger.

I did it. I was able to replace my full-time income with money from niche websites.

How I started internet marketing

Many people that start internet marketing go in with unrealistic expectations and think they’ll be rich in mere months. I knew the score from the beginning and set very conservative goals for myself.

I picked a niche I was interested in at the time, and built my very first website right away. When I picked this niche I did little niche research or keyword research so I didn’t realize just how competitive the niche was. I also chose the domain poorly and kind of limited my potential for future growth in doing so. Live and learn.

I started writing articles for my new site, signed up for Amazon Associates, and I was off on my internet marketing journey. I made so many mistakes in the beginning and my articles are embarrassing to look at now, but at its peak that site was making about $500/month.

That original site is still live today, but has been largely repurposed and much of the content has been redirected to another site. I may be able to reboot this site one day but for now I’m busy with other things.

The rest is history, I’ve got over a dozen niche blogs now that make me a full-time income.

Why I built this site

To put it simply I just want to share my knowledge, what I’ve learned so far. The Niche Informer brand is just a place for me to do that. Check out the YouTube Channel if you haven’t already.
